Having successfully navigated multiple career changes in my own life, I have a heart for helping people find their path in life. I love seeing people come alive as they explore how to offer their unique gifts to the world.

In 1998, I graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. I worked as a programmer, trainer, and consultant for an enterprise software company in Denver, CO. After skiing enough, I moved back to my hometown in Michigan where I worked in management at a manufacturing company.

In 2008, I felt the call to serve in a new way, and I earned a Masters in Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. I was ordained to Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Covenant Church in June of 2013. I served for ten years as Associate Pastor and Director of Congregational Care for Boone United Methodist Church in Boone, NC. In July of 2021, I received a certificate in spiritual direction from the Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction in Chicago. In February of 2023, I completed training as an Executive Leadership Coach, and I am in the process of becoming certified through the International Coaching Federation.

My wife Carrie and I founded Evergreen Pathways to help people discover their next steps through spiritual direction, coaching, and retreats. Carrie and I live in Boone, NC with our three young children. We enjoy being outside, visiting the beach, and spending time together on the family Christmas tree farm.
