Hi, I’m Jeff McClain.

I've spent much of my life navigating transitions.

From engineering to business leadership, from corporate America to pastoral ministry, and from leading organizations to walking alongside individuals in seasons of discernment and growth, I've experienced firsthand what it means to ask, "What's next?"

Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities that come with change. They have also shaped my passion for helping others discover their own path forward.

Whether you're facing a career transition, a leadership challenge, an important decision, a season of spiritual searching, or simply a desire to grow closer to God, I believe meaningful transformation begins with creating space to listen, reflect, and discern.

A Holistic Perspective

My background allows me to bring a unique and holistic approach to coaching and spiritual direction.

I earned a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan and spent ten years working in technology, consulting, training, and management. Later, I felt called in a new direction and earned a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. I was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church and served for ten years as Associate Pastor and Director of Congregational Care at Boone United Methodist Church in Boone, North Carolina.

Along the way, I discovered that life's questions rarely fit neatly into categories. Professional challenges affect our personal lives. Spiritual questions influence our decisions. Leadership responsibilities shape our relationships and sense of purpose.

That's why my work draws from both practical leadership experience and contemplative Christian traditions.

Why Evergreen Pathways?

My wife Carrie and I founded Evergreen Pathways because we believe everyone needs guidance from time to time.

Life can feel overwhelming when you're facing a transition, wrestling with a decision, seeking deeper purpose, or longing for a closer connection with God. We created Evergreen Pathways as a place where people can slow down, gain clarity, and discover what keeps them rooted through every season.

Through coaching, spiritual direction, and retreats, our hope is to help people move forward with greater confidence, purpose, and faith.

A Little More About Me

Carrie and I live in Boone, North Carolina, with our three children. We enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting the beach, and working together on our family Christmas tree farm in the mountains of northwestern North Carolina.
